What do I think? I think it's ridiculous that the RAF have been reduced to cheapening their emblems (and therefore the history of them) for putting on clothing. That's not meant to be a criticism of the entire RAF who, I know are still a superb organisation, just the men at the top who seem to think it's a good idea.
dont you think its a good thing that some of the profits are going back into the RAF and awareness is being raised, and surely its better to have liscensed use of the emblems than cheaper unathorised brands misusing them, who ahve used it past freely without paying of givin anything back to the RAF? how about anyone else?
But the RAF are not a brand, they are not a commercial product, they are a professional and elite Air Force. Quite why they need to 'sell' themselves as a brand with clothing and toys etc in the first place confuses me. I know they have to raise public awareness, but you do that through airshows, recruting events and the like, not selling merchandise.
they are trying the make people who arent so interested in airshows and the like aware of the RAF and by publicising from another angle therefore broadening the awareness of the RAF throughout the public, not just the people already visiting airshows. I think this way of marketing will make people not so sure of the ammazing job the RAF does understand it better. yay or nay?
